There are all types of lessons available; Shortboard, Longboard, Stand up Paddle and even Bodyboards. We cater for all age’s and sizes. One on one lessons (private), groups, schools, camps and corporate team building are all available daily throughout the year. Chris and Genevieve Kendall started Coolum Surfing School in 2001 with a dream to become one of the coasts most prestigious and professional surf schools. Offering lessons from beginners to advanced surfers, all levels of fitness and available from sun up to sun down. We specialise in private tuition and have made it affordable to encourage all people, young and old, individuals and families to experience this fun, active and iconic sport.
1.5hr PRIVATE LESSONS
Private lessons are ideal for individuals, families, friends and children of all ages. Available 7 days a week sun up to sun down. The guest gets to choose what day and time. Private lessons are best progressive learning available. Booking is Essential. All lesson prices include all equipment (proper size learner soft board, wet shirt, sunscreen and accredited surf coach)

2 hr GROUP LESSONS
Join our schedule group beginner’s class, run every day from 9 to 11am.
Cost is
$50 for one lesson
$135 for three lessons
$185 for five lessons
Price includes all equipment proper sized soft learner surf board, wet suit (if needed), wet shirt and accredited surf coach.
All beginners are taught surf awareness in the lesson. This includes how to identify a safe surfing area and a safe swimming area. What to do if you find yourselves in trouble and how to get yourselves out of trouble. We teach you about rips, gutters and sandbanks. During the lesson you will learn surf safety, surf etiquette, how to paddle and catch waves, how to control the surfboard and of course how to stand up and rid a wave to the beach. After the basics are taught and the student is competent CSS will have ongoing classes available for development and for students to progress to the next level and towards their surfing potential
