The Billabong Parko Grom Stomp is the fourth of its kind in Australia alongside Taj’s Small fries (Yallingup, WA), Oz Grom Cup (Coffs Harbour) and the Occy’s Grom Comp (Gold Coast, QLD). The event attracts grommets from all over the nation not only in hope of the youngsters having their name etched to the famed perpetual trophy but more importantly, proof and self confidence towards a bright future as a surfing professional.

One of Australian surfing's most prestigious junior events will celebrate its 7th year with the four day Billabong Parko’s Grom Stomp kicking off at the Sunshine Coast on Thursday.

The Original Source Australian Boardriders Battle is the country’s biggest grassroots, boardriders event series with $120,000 in prize money. It will involve more than 100 of Australia’s best boardriders clubs in eight State qualifying rounds starting in October and culminate in a two-day, national final for 20 clubs on the Australia Day Long Weekend on 24-25 January, 2015 at Cronulla in Sydney.

Queensland State Round of the Original Source Australian Boardriders Battle Sets High Benchmark with Fanning and Durbidge in Action

The Original Source Australian Boardriders Battle is the country’s biggest grassroots, boardriders event series with $120,000 in prize money. It will involve more than 100 of Australia’s best boardriders clubs in eight State qualifying rounds starting in October and culminate in a two-day, national final for 20 clubs on the Australia Day Long Weekend on 24-25 January, 2015 at Cronulla in Sydney.
Elite competitors Bede Durbidge (Point Lookout Boardriders) and Mick Fanning (Kirra Surfriders) battled for valuable points in the opening round of the Teams format in a bid to strengthen their club’s position leading into tomorrow’s finals.
