2009 saw a massive revamp of the SC Girls Boardriders Club. Tara Christie, a seasoned competitive surfer, took over as President with the help of Jaimee White and Cassandra Heilbronn. Tara continues to lead the Club in 2011 with Cassa taking the role of Treasurer and Secretary after the relocation of Jaimee. Dave Lammin takes on the role of Head of Coaching. Meets are held on the last Sunday of each month at Pierces Park Maroochydore (two exits south of the Surf Club). In late 2009, the Club was fortunate enough to receive a Grant from the Gambling Community Benefit Fund which saw the purchase of 13 new boards, a generator, ice boxes, first aid courses and 3 members obain their Level 1 Judging Accreditation through Surfing Queensland.
